How it began
Our story starts with Gary Knowles, who found his passion for home design at sixteen, hand-drawing plans for builders.
He spent years learning the trade from the supply side, went out on his own at twenty-five, and eventually moved to Charlotte, where an investor hired him to build a multi-unit patio community. The quality of that project was the seed that grew into GJK Remodeling.
Today GJK is a local, family-owned design-build contractor. Gary runs the projects, his wife Aireale runs the office, and most of our work still arrives the same way it always has: someone we built for told someone else about it.
